Women on Women

With Victoria Smith & Anna Wharton

11th / 12th May 2023           Number of places: 8

In the last few years, as identity politics have taken hold, middle-aged women have found themselves talked and written about as morally inferior beings: the face of bigotry, entitlement and selfishness, to be ignored, pitied or abused.

In her book Hags, Victoria Smith asks why these women are treated with such active disdain. The result is a book that is absorbing, insightful, witty and bang on time.

The Book Room’s Sunday Times best selling author, Anna Wharton will be on hand throughout the retreat, hosting workshops and useful one on one sessions with everyone.

So join us for our first feminist writing retreat where we will explore how women write in the current climate, and what we must write about.
